Crafting an elegant product with a personal touch
To accompany the Museum of Islamic Art’s exhibition ‘Hajj: A Journey through Art’ (October 2013-January 2014), Inspiral Design created a fashionable black and gold Ka’aba key pendant that featured distinct calligraphy down its blade, drawn by Soraya Syed, Art of the Pen.
With the expert assistance of a commissioned jeweller, the limited edition product design was modelled on a key from the museum’s collection and mirrored the weight and quality of the original object. The pendant was sold in a beautiful black and foil-blocked box that referenced the Kiswa cloth, which covers the Ka’aba during the Hajj.
