Impressive Wedding Invitation

Symbolic geometric design with handcrafted elegance.

This breathtaking wedding invitation featured an exquisitely detailed geometric pattern inspired by a fourteenth-century carved teak panel from the Victoria and Albert Museum’s collection.

The invitation’s complex design featured intersecting pathways and a six-folded star pattern. The underlying circular construction of this pattern is symbolic of the Creation Story in Islam and was chosen for the wedding invitation as an appropriate metaphor for a relationship in blossom.

To achieve a handcrafted aesthetic that referenced the sophisticated geometry found in Islamic art, the pattern was skilfully hand-drawn before being digitised and embossed onto the invitation’s pearlescent purple cover. This was later transferred onto a rubber stamp and used to mark the invitation envelopes for continuity across all the printed matter.
